Shine a light on our 3rd World Opals

I love it when people who know me feel safe enough to ask, “what’s it really like in prison?”

Often, I’ll say something like “well the bad people are pretty bad, but the good people are really good.”

See that’s the thing. In any prison you’re going to come across folk who are so damaged that they aren’t nice or safe to be around. But the bulk of Opal people are just trying to make the best out of being incarcerated.

My aim is to help the Opal Community in the Western World help our Opal Brethren in the 3rd world prisons.

We can help in many ways. Some examples are by offering our prayers as a community, encouraging our kids to do well at school so that they ‘can make a difference’ by becoming leaders and by contributing as a group to help in more practical ways.

My dream is that in the on-coming years that we can gift selected 3rd world prisons practical help.

Examples of what I’m hoping to do are things like; access to better drinking water, access to legal advice and medical care or even something as simple as providing soap.

Below are a few links to videos that cover 3rd world countries. I’ve also included one documentary (kids behind bars) even though it does cover children in Western facilities. This documentary helped me understand the plight of children in 3rd world prisons.
